RE Salesperson Licensing Course Info

The New York Real Estate Institute's salesperson course is designed to fit into any busy schedule. The course is offered everyday, seven days a week. You can start the course at anytime with any of the required sessions and finish the course within six days!

The 45 hour course is broken down into 12 sessions and can be taken in any order as long as the 45 hour requirement is met. This flexible schedule allows for anyone to fit it in and the sessions can be taken at any of the New York Real Estate locations. You can also take the NYREI school exam on the same day that you complete the final session. NOTE: All 12 sessions must be completed before taking the school exam.

After completing your course and passing the school exam you are required to take the NYS Real Estate Licensing Exam. The state requires that you make a reservation to take the exam and NYREI recommends making it early, even if you do not plan on taking it right away after completion of the course. Sessions and Topics Covered:

Session #1 - Real Estate Salesperson
                       (Employee or Independent Contractor) - 1 hour
                        License Law and Regulation - 3 hours

Session #2 - Law of Agency - 4 hours

Session #3 - Liens and Easements - 1.5 hours
                        Deeds - 1.5 hours
                        Title Costs and Closings - 1 hour

Session #4 - Contracts - 2 hours
                        Leases - 2 hours

Session #5 - Law of Agency - 4 hours

Session #6 - Human Rights and Fair Housing - 4 hours

Session #7 - Estate and Interest - 2 hours
                         Land Use Regulations - 2 hours

Session #8 - Real Estate Finance One - 4 hours

Session #9 - The Valuation Process - 3 hours

Session #10 - Math (bring calculator) - 3 hours
                           Real Estate Finance - 1 hour

Session #11 - Construction - 3 hours

Session #12 - Environment Issues - 3 hours

Upon completion of the course, as an expression of gratitude and appreciation, NYREI will give you $100 credit to use towards any future courses at the Institute or a $50 credit that can be transfered to anyone else who signs up for the Salesperson course at one of the Long Island locations. Please note that in order to recieve the credit, you must have taken at least half of the sessions at one of our Long Island Branches.
